Myrtha Technology

Developed in Europe, the Myrtha system is leading-edge technology, based upon a unique modular system employing stainless steel panels laminated with a special rigid PVC membrane on the inside surface. Together with buttresses at each panel joint, this arrangement makes the pool structure fully self- supporting. Myrtha Technology is tailored for customers who appreciate quality, and who opt for safe long- term technical investments.

The panels are pre-engineered off- site, with all components manufactured under factory conditions to ISO 9001 standards and shipped to the location. This means that the pool can be built in a very short space of time, with no heavy equipment required on site – a huge advantage where the facility is part of a more complex construction project.

Commercial Aquatics Australia, as the local partner of Myrtha Pools, has had outstanding success installing this technology for clients in a large number of high-profile aquatic centre developments throughout Australia. This system offers highly flexible planning and design alternatives that have no limit with regard to the structure’s shape or size – a significantly faster installation than conventional concrete structure design.

The precise assembly process provides exceptional reliability and long lasting performance over time, a result of the structure’s resistance to adverse atmospheric conditions. Any type of pool project is suitable for this technology, from precise competitive situations to elaborate freeform pool design. Myrtha Technology is also environmentally friendly, as determined by a comparison of carbon emissions on a Myrtha and traditional concrete structure. Myrtha commissioned ACOR Consultants (a renowned Australian Engineering Company) who determined that the carbon footprint of a 50 m Myrtha Pool can be up to 50% lower than that of a traditional 50 m concrete tiled pool.

With the use of special Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software, Myrtha CFD technology can simulate the pool circulation before its construction, providing reliable 3D simulations and digital tests.Myrtha boasts numerous FINA standard competition pools that host international events, including FINA World Championships, Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

There are installations in some 70 countries, including:

  • MSAC – Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre
  • SAALC – South Australian Aquatic & Leisure Centre
  • London Olympic Village – 30th Olympic Games
  • Barcelona – 15th FINA World Championships

Another feature of Myrtha Technology is RenovAction® – a patented and exclusive modular pool renovation system which allows the design of a pool to be expanded or changed without any major demolition work.
